St. John’s Referees Organization received the visit of WCQ Officiating Team

St. John’s – Canada – February 19th, 2019.

The officiating team of the Canada x Chile game of the World Cup Qualifiers held yesterday a meeting with the group of referees that works the local basketball games at St. John, Canada. The crew was made by Roberto Vazquez (Puerto Rico), Leandro Lezcano (Argentina) and Julio Anaya (Panama) and the main points were: the activities of the FIBA Americas Referee Department throughout the continent, having multiple national training camps to detect young talents with potential to become FIBA referees in the future; also, the crew presented how they prepare before the game and the main duties during and after the game as the self-evaluation assessment and the video review to keep upgrading the level of the officiating. Finally, some points of emphasis were discussed as a complement to the education program of the local referees.
